Kids Rehab offers medical input to children and adolescents with physical and cognitive disabilities, limb deficiency, acquired brain and spinal cord injury. This service includes the following:
- Assessment of level of impairments and potential for participation in a rehabilitation program
- Planning, implementation and review of rehabilitation programs
- Assessment of motor skills including gait abnormalities
- Arranging brain/spinal cord imaging under sedation if required at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital
- Botolinum Toxin A (Botox) injections to manage spasticity
- Hip Surveillance for individuals with delayed motor skills and gait abnormalities
- Planning and management of transition of the individual's health care to adult services
- Arranging a comprehensive "Health Care Plan" to be used by the individual's carers at home and in the community
- Bowel and bladder care
